12″ of snow and I have flowers in my garden

Dear Chicago House,

I am trying to cheer on Spring but an 8″ snowfall yesterday has rather put a dampers on my dreams. I can’t wait to get out on the garden and start dabbling with seeds and flowers.

My garden might be covered in a blanket of snow but there is one flower that can endure the Chicago winter. The beautiful Hydrangea.

It looks stunning dried

Defeats all weather odds

And flowers profusely all summer long

What’s yours?
