My goodness I have another food post!
One of our traditions is to celebrate Christmas with a good old fashioned British Christmas cake.
Underneath this lovely royal icing frosting delight you will find a marzipanned fruit cake, yes, you read that right, a fruit cake. A lovely moist cake brimming with raisins and glace cherries and laced with a good slug of brandy.
Fruit cake may be a joke here in the USA but that is because it is rarely made properly!
This cake will not make it past new year as Chicago teenager (who also happened to decorate this little beauty today) will want a piece with every meal.
